The Model Parliament National Archives (French: Archives nationales de la Simulation parlementaire), more commonly known as the National Archives, is an independent federal agency of the Parliament of Canada that was founded during MPSP2017 which is charged with the preservation of government and historical records of Model Parliament. The incumbent Curator is Brandon Ly.
Contrary to popular belief, the National Archives is officially independent from the Model Parliament Committee's purview. However, the institution is still subject to the rules and regulations put in place by the Committee on the event as a whole.
Origins[]
The National Archives was initially a project undertaken by Jonathan Hopkins to help keep an orderly and precise history of Model Parliament to facilitate the entry of new Model Parliamentarians, and make historical events more accessible. With the assistance of model parliamentarians such as Braeson Holland, Oliver Parker, and others, the project was deemed successful at the time.
