Macronesia, officially the United Provincial Regions of the Commonwealth of Macronesia (French: Régions provinciales unies du Commonwealth de Macronie), is a heavily decentralized federated state.
History[]
Macronesia was formed after each region was conquered by an ancient leader. The actual name of this leader is unknown and each linguistic group has a different name for her. However, most names roughly translate to "The Foundress" or "Mother Macronesia".
It is said that she sought to grow her empire, which originally consisted of what is now Kuala Jakardok, and she conquered all of the surrounding islands using advanced naval technology.
Geography[]
The geographic landscape of Macronesia varies depending on the region. The country consists of over 100 islands, some of which are tropical, some are heavily sedimentary, while some are simply desert.
Governance[]
Though it is a federated state, there is no central legislature. All legislative responsibilities are handled by provincial legislatures, which then must be approved by the President of the Country. The elected president, with consent of cabinet, may enforce any law passed by one legislative assembly on the other provinces or may allow the province to simply legislate for itself.
President Lee Kalla, who is credited with the rapid economic growth of the country, is the Head of State for the country, and has been for nearly a decade, winning massive majorities in three elections.
Economy[]
Macronesia is one of the fastest developing countries in the world, with its capital of Singalumpore surpassing San Frandiego, Novada as the most expensive city to purchase a home. Singalumpore is considered the eastern base of operations for many international companies, including Microsoft and SpaceZed.
Culture[]
Macronesia is home to over 900 different languages, almost all of them being indigenous languages spoken in a single village.
