Jarrod Sokul PC MP was a Model Parliamentarian first elected in November 2018 for MPSP 2019 for the Riding of Edmonton Centre who passed away of a rare form of Cancer in 2019.

MPSP 19[]

Sokul was a critical member in the establishment of the party, the National Bird Front (NBF), in September 2018. Whose plan was to stand up for Bird Rights across Canada and implement many bird-friendly policies. In the NBF, Sokul served as the House Leader of the Party. After gaining early success, the NBF created a strategic merger with the Cave Party; Sokul was an integral part of the success of merging these two parties. The newly formed DODO Front came into effect in Late October, and Sokul continued as the House Leader of the Bird Caucus within the DODO Front.

On November 22nd, Sokul was elected by a large margin as the Member of Parliament in the riding of Edmonton Centre. He was appointed to the Front Benches of Her Majesty's Official Opposition as the Critic for Procurement and Nest Construction. At the end of Day One, the Toga Government had fallen, and Sokul was a favourite from the DODO Party to be a key cabinet minister.

At the beginning of Day 2, Sokul was named the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, a key position in the government after the occurrence of the Parliamentary Fire. Sokul was not an active Cabinet Minister in Parliament after many of his duties as a Minister of the Crown kept him away from the chamber, as this was a very important portfolio to the new government. After the resignations of Prime Minister Alec Connor and Prime Minister Daniel Perry, Sokul, among others, started a new party called the Biscuit Party; under the Biscuit Party, Sokul was named the Deputy House Leader. After the fall of the Dodo Front, the Biscuit Party formed the government with a small minority government; under the new Biscuit Government, Sokul became the Deputy House Leader of the Government in the House of Commons.

Ejection from the House[]

At approximately 2:14 PM during MPSP2021 Day 1, during a speech from the TOGA Government, Sokul burst into screams and heckles, accusing a minister of lying and treachery against the state. Speaker Jonathan Hopkins requested that Sokul withdraw his statement, to which he refused, prompting the speaker to order Sokul to exit the House for the remainder of the session. He refused and was forcibly ejected by the Sergeant-at-Arms.

Cancer diagnosis and death[]

In April 2019, Sokul was diagnosed with Choriocarcinoma, an extremely rare type of Cancer. He passed away on August 29th, 2019.

Later legacy[]

During MPSP2020, one of the first speeches spoken in the new house was by former DODO deputy leader Henry Mann, memorializing Sokul, followed by a moment of silence.

During MPSP2022, all ticket proceeds went towards the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation in Sokul's name.
